What Is It?
Bridges are an elective cosmetic procedure that serves to restore damaged, decayed, or missing teeth. Dental bridges are made using robust and long-lasting compounds that look and feel like real teeth! As such, your new dental bridge can last for several years with regular dental care, like brushing and flossing.
When you have spaces or gaps in your teeth, simply chewing food can prove to be challenging. Thanks to the benefits of bridges, however, you no longer have to avoid eating certain foods. This treatment option will allow you to expand your diet to include the foods you love.
At Forrest Tower DDS, we use dental bridges for a variety of reasons. Some of the most common include:
- Filling gaps between two teeth
- Enhancing facial structure
- Replacing damaged teeth
- Restoring missing teeth
How Long Does Treatment Take?
Most of the time, treatment takes just 60 to 90 minutes. Your procedures are performed throughout two dental visits. At your first appointment, Dr. Tower will prepare your “anchor” teeth so that they can more easily accept your new bridge. Anchor teeth are the teeth surrounding your space or gap.
To ensure that your bridge fits correctly, an experienced technician will carefully create your bridge using a mold of your mouth. When your completed bridge is ready, we will have you return to our office so that Dr. Tower can bond it in place.
